The Roar of My Silence | Book Review

The Roar of My Silence
Author: Ankit Bagdi

Most of us have experienced this indirectly or directly. Being a girl/woman comes with terms and conditions. Almost every day we get to see NEWS where we get to see something or the other happening. Who is responsible for all these ill that are taking place in our society? Earlier when children used to play freely and now even children are not spared. These evils or devils are not only unknown people but people who are near to us too. Child Marriage, Gender Stereotype, Gender Bias are all social evils which are deteriorating our society. We need to imbibe this feeling in our future generation that all are equal and what one gender can achieve the other can achieve too.  Such is the story of Kumudh who has been through a lot and how she fights against all the odds. This is a story that will make you cry, angry and sometimes even agree. Kumudh who never had friends in her school life but as she joins college she acquaints a group of friends. She shares a special bond with 'Ridhaan' and 'Ojas'. But later her family members marry her to a guy and the story begins. Will she be able to achieve her dream? To know more read The Roar of My Silence.

My Thoughts:

The story shows us the journey of Kumudh from being a young girl to a married woman. And how she handles things while in college and later on in her life.

The language is simple but there are a lot of grammatical errors and the flow of the story can be quite a bit problem for some readers. Editing can be done much better.

The characters were well developed and we get to see how people behave and suffer. But the most important thing is the way we come out of it and strive to achieve our dreams.

The cover page and the title of the book will surely create an interest in the readers.

The book is short and so the readers can complete it in one sitting too.

Overall, I can say that it is a onetime read.

My Rating: 3/5
