The book is about the emotions that a person goes through when he/she is in love, when he/she goes through a breakup and how he/she is trying to move ahead but it is not that easy as we think it would be. We sometimes get used to a person so much that it is difficult to stay away from them but then when they move on easily and we are still stuck in the same moment living those moments again and again. We are forced to think if they ever loved us or was it just us who were living under a false presumption that the person also loves as much as we love them. The Diary on the Fifth Floor Author: Raisha Lalwani Pages: 184 Publisher: Rupa Publication           ‘The Diary on the Fifth Floor’ by Raisha Lalwani is a fascinating tale of a twenty five year old woman who is dealing with some sort of problem when she decides to see the doctor more precisely a psychiatrist. With constant emails to the doctor she finally manages to get an appointment and she arrives at the doctor’s place. The story begins when she enters the doctor’s clinic on the fifth floor of a hospital. The woman informs the doctor that she is here for her sister and that her sister is behaving weirdly these days and is not being herself. She is terrified to open up in front of the doctor and hence is constantly creating a web of lies. His father Chandra Sekhar was unable to bear with his wife’s loss and just could not come out of it. In the process he doesn’t even bond with his son and sends him off to live in a boarding school. Soon he returns after his studies and wants to be an actor.
