‘The Storyteller’ by Sana Rose is a story that revolves around a girl named Zara who is suffering from PTSD. Zara has suffered a lot in her childhood but she can’t recollect most of it which is affecting in ways which cannot be even thought of. One day, Zara receives an email from an unknown stranger called ‘The Storyteller’. As the conversation goes on between Zara and ‘The Storyteller’ we get to see that this stranger knows more about Zara than she knows about herself. Soon, she starts thinking about what she was made to believe and even tries her best to change her thought process and look at things differently. What is it that Zara has suffered in her childhood? Who is ‘The Storyteller’ and how is it he knows Zara so well? What is Zara afraid of? To know read ‘The Storyteller’.

My Thoughts:

The plot revolves around various issues childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, and many others and how they affect a person. It was very difficult to read how Zara suffered throughout her child and how the person who should have protected her from everything was only makes her believe things which only make it more difficult for her later.

Characters are well developed and relatable. We can feel the feelings that Zara is going through the anxiety and the experiences that she had, the beliefs that she believes all her life and how she is finding it difficult to overcome these beliefs. I really liked the conversation between Zara and ‘The Storyteller’ and how slowly she is starting to put her thoughts to all that she suffered till now.

Language is simple and lucid. The narration is slow paced which will make the readers more invested in the story. The cover page is intriguing and would surely make the readers curious to know what the story is all about.

Overall, I would surely recommend this book to all.
