‘Ancient History’ by Sophie Penhaligon is a mystery novel that revolves around a 24 year old girl named Athena Duncan. Athena is the daughter of famous archaeologist Hamish Duncan and had lived a very comfortable life until one day when life turns upside down for her. She lost both her parents in an accident. But Athena is determined to know what exactly happened and get to the root cause. She leaves for Paris where she meets two men who seem to want to help her. Who are these men? My Thoughts:

The plot is very interesting. I must say that this story is a perfect blend of romance, suspense, action and thriller. Each page has a plot twist which will surely keep the readers curious to know about what will be happening ahead.

The characters are well developed. I liked how Athena is determined and strong willed girl who wants to get to the root cause and is ready to put in her everything to solve the mystery. Language is simple and lucid. The narration is good. Book cover and the title of the book are also apt to the plot.

Overall, it was a good read.
