My Thoughts:

Even though this is a debut novel of the author I must say that the author has excellently depicted the struggles of the other side of the society which no one has tackled before. The struggles and the will to live a respectful life has depicted excellently. Author has talked about the mindset of people and the way they twist things in the name of religion, prostitution, homosexuality, etc. through this book.

I liked Rania’s character a lot her fight for justice, self respect can be really seen throughout the book. She even wants to achieve her dream and even goes ahead to fulfill them. The characters are realistic and the readers can actually feel the emotions that each of them are going through.

Language is simple and lucid. I must say that the author has actually represented the 90s era in such a way that it feels as if the story is actually playing in front of our eyes.

Overall, it was a very emotional read which truly shows the struggles of common people and the societal norms which we are made to believe.
