Rebelina: A Walk into the Lives of Women

‘Rebelina: A Walk into the Lives of Women’ by Rakhi Kapoor is a collection of 19 short stories which revolve around women. We get to see how the female protagonists stand for the things they feel are wrong and voice against the wrong doer. Each story revolves around a different issue that we get to see even today and how the protagonists handle each of these problems efficiently. I liked how the author through these stories has dealt with some of the serious issues like domestic violence, sexual harassment, equal right to education, etc.

The stories will definitely inspire everyone and set an example of how if we don’t take a stand for ourselves no one will. All the stories are beautiful but some of my favorites are as follows:

·         The Grand Ghost

·         The Example

·         Raising a Mom

·         Rebelina

Language is simple and lucid. I have read other books by the author and I must say that the stories have the power to captivate the readers. The cover page and the title of the book are relatable to the book.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this collection of short stories and would surely recommend them to all.
