Pages: 63

‘Love on the Everest’ by Deepthi Ayyagari is a story that tells us about a boy named ‘Siddharth’ who loves mountaineering. This love for mountaineering comes from childhood when he used to like climbing things and had done quite a lot of unconventional things at climbing be it climbing furniture, racks, shelves and even pipes! As he grew up his love for climbing grew profoundly and he explored most of the mountains by climbing them. Now his only ambition is to climb the highest mountain on the earth i.e. Mt. Everest. But his parents had other plans for their son they wanted him to settle down and have a family of his own. Siddharth even gets engaged to a girl and with permission leaves for his quest to Mt. Everest. But life too had other plans for him as he reaches Everest and they start mounting the mountain an incident occurs and he is saved by his Sherpani. And soon the story begins. Will Siddharth fall in love with his Sherpani? Will Siddharth make up to the top of Mt. Everest? Or will Siddharth get married to his fiancée? To know this and more read ‘Love on the Everest’.

My Thoughts:

Love is a feeling which very less people to experience and our protagonist ‘Siddharth’ has very less expectation of finding it on Mt. Everest. The author has done a great job of showing us that love is not about falling with a person who is just beautiful. But when a person loves we forget all about his/her faults and this is what happens in the story too. Instead of writing the regular cliqued romance stories the author has went for a romance story which is quite realistic. Loved this fact about the book.

The writing style of the author is also very beautiful. The narration is great the whole experience about the Mt. Everest and the climatic conditions there is described beautifully. The readers will get transported to Mt. Everest such was the narration.

The cover page is also very beautiful and is related to a scene in the book. The title of the book is also apt.

The language is simple and lucid and the readers will find it easy to understand.

The book is very short and the readers can read it in one sitting.

Overall, the book was very beautiful and I also liked the fact that the author has added a poem from her other book. The poem too was beautiful.

Overall, I would say that I would surely recommend this book to all those who are looking forward to read something short but also very engaging.

My Rating: 5/5
