‘Dosti, Love, Aur The Bond from the Beginning’ by Sima Patel as the name suggests is a story about friendship between six students (Bradley, Arjun, Kyle, Sareena, Karen, and Jasmine) and how the friendship turns into love at first sight for Sareena. Sareena is an Indian girl living in America and at first she just wanted to earn a degree so that she could have a successful career. Love for her was a trivial matter and would come later in life but life had other plans for her and love becomes her topmost priority when she meets Bradley. But her father too has other plans for her. Her father ‘Mr. Mehta’ is an old fashioned man who has already decided that her daughter would get married at a young age and that with a boy of his choice and he was against the idea of Sareena going for further studies. But her brother comes as a saviour and makes their father understand that boys look for a educated girl nowadays. When all the six individuals meet at the library and when Sareena sees Bradley she at once falls for him but is somewhat shy to admit her feeling for him. But soon Bradley learns about Sareena’s feelings towards him and they both fell in love with each other. Will they be able to overcome all the problems and be together forever? To know more read Dosti, Love, Aur The Bond from the Beginning.

My Thoughts:

The story is written in a simple & lucid manner so the readers won’t find it difficult to read. The story has a surprise element at the end. I loved the characters the friendship they share but I also didn’t like the fact that Sareena was just not taking the initiative to express her love for Bradley and that someone else had to convey her feeling towards Bradley. The plot was interesting with the end taking an unusual twist.

Overall, I liked the story and would surely recommend this book to someone who is  looking to read something light and romantic at the same.

My Ratings: 4/5
