Leader of Millions – the revenge of Gandhi’s followers is a novel by B.P.Senapati and Durgesh Nandini Das is a romantic thriller story about Vijay and Priya which inspires people to fight against injustice and corruption and fight for their rights.

The book revolves around a group of five friends Rakesh, Vijay, Priya, Ishita and Rashmi and how each of them is there for each other. The book mainly revolves around Vijay and Priya and their childhood friendship. The book is written in third party POV i.e. Rakesh and he is narrating the story of Vijay and Priya. Vijay and Priya became friends as soon as they saw each other but soon their friendship grows stronger and soon their friendship turns into love and even their parents came to know that. Young Priya always used to spend most of her time at Vijay’s place and his parents also used to like her visit as she used to remind them of their daughter ‘Roma’. Everybody used to adore them as they were always first be it academics, sports Vijay and Priya were the first to participate. Priya’s family too used to adore Vijay and think of him as their own son and soon their family relations were also very strong. 

Soon the friends even got into the same college and their friendship was unbreakable and all was good. But, when everything seems good life throws a curveball and the same happens in the story. All the friends were returning from a outing when Priya’s parents meet with an accident and they lose their lives. Priya is heartbroken and couldn’t overcome the huge loss life had thrown at her. But soon, Vijay’s parent comfort her and bring her along with her and even look after her education, give her pocket money and treats her like their own daughter and even give their daughter’s room to her. Everything was going perfectly fine and Priya was overcoming her parent’s loss when life throws another curveball at them and while they go for Vijay’s interview they are treated miserably by the police officers and soon they make their lives goal to punish them. My Views: 

This is the first book in the Leader of the Millions series. The book is written in simple and lucid language. The characters are well developed and the plot is also well developed. The book shows us how a single man is willing to change the corruption that the society is facing with his ideologies and make a society which is corruption free. The POV in the book changes a lot. The book needs editing as there are a lot of errors. But the concept of the book was refreshing and I would definitely recommend this book to someone’s who looking to read something different and not the usual romantic novels. I am waiting for the second book in the series and dive into Vijay’s adventures.
