‘Magical Creatures of Mumbai’s Underbelly: Urban Fantasy Shorts’ by Sneh Sapru is a collection of short stories which gives us a glimpse of the various types of people and their thinking process. I must say that the readers will not be disappointed when they pick up this book it is a perfect blend of suspense, mystery, horror, etc.

We actually get to see how the author has excellently built up the suspense in each story and how the stories take a sudden turn of event which will leave the readers surprised. There are instance where we also get to see human psychology who wants everything in life but as said in one of the story that ‘Every blessing is its own kind of curse.’

We really get to see the true happenings which take place in Mumbai but with a twist of fantasy element.

The characters are well developed and each of them is unique. We get to see how people are curious to know or experience certain things then we also get to see how humans sometimes are not satisfied with one particular thing and wants each and everything. There are many things that we can learn through these characters.

The book cover is very interesting with mythical creatures and apt to the plot of the book. Language is simple and lucid and the narration is done beautifully.

It was really fun reading the book and I am sure the readers will be curious to know what is going to happen in each of the story.
