‘The Mahasiddha Field’ by Dwal Lahiri is a story which takes place in Srirangapura. There are various mysterious things that are happening in the village which started around 2 years back. No one knows who and why these things are happening until one day when a stranger named Bhadramanu comes to the village. Maddapa welcomes this stranger and even takes him to his house Bhadramanu is pleased with his hospitality and asks him if he can be of any help to him. Soon Bhadramanu learns about the strange occurrences taking place in the village and he feels the strange energies. He also guesses that these things are more than they seem to the eye. Who is Bhadramanu? What it is that is making the villagers anxious? Why and who is causing these mysterious things? Can Bhadramanu save the people of Srirangapura from these strange happenings?                 The plot is unique and each page has a plot twist. The plot will surely keep the readers engaged throughout the book. The book is a perfect mixture of mystery, mythology and sci-fi and keeps the readers on edge throughout the book.

                Characters are well developed. The characters feel more connected once we make progress in the book.

                Language is simple and lucid. The narration is excellent. The world building is nicely done the portals through which the asuras enter everything is done exceptionally.

                Book cover is interesting and will make the readers curious to know the story. The title of the book is also apt to the plot.

                Overall, I must say that the plot was very gripping and I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book. I will surely recommend this book to all.
