‘Cupid is Complicated’ by Namita Bajaj is a book that revolves around Naman and Dhwani. Dhwani is a very charming girl who aspires to be a singer but she is also an introvert who always used to be in her own world which consisted of her family and her aspirations whereas Naman Mehta is a person with an infectious smile with a ‘boy next door’ tag. Dhwani and Naman meet during the college fest and before she knew she was falling in love with him. Soon they started spending a lot of time together but whenever the two met time just used to fly by. The two just couldn’t confess their feelings for each other for a long time. Aakash has interest in Dhwani and then we are introduced to a Tia who too has feelings for Naman. Everything was going fine between the two until one day when Dhwani encounters Naman in a situation with a girl and she totally misunderstands the situation. Naman tries his best to convince Dhwani about the situation but she was hurt and was not ready to hear or understand anything. What will happen between Dhwani and Naman? Are they destined to be together? To know read ‘Cupid is Complicated’.

My Thoughts:

Plot is simple but has a twist on every page. We follow the stories of Naman and Dhwani and it was very cute to read their whole story. Right from Chapter 1 when they both get introduced to each other and how it was love at first sight for Dhwani. The plot twist was also very good and the struggle that both went through could also been seen. I would say that the plot is engaging and it will surely keep the readers hooked till the end.

Characters are well developed and relatable. The reaction that Dhwani has when she faces the situation was aptly narrated and her emotions were excellently depicted. I liked Naman how tries his best to handle the situation and how faithful he has always been to Dhwani. Dhwani’s family members are also a big support to her and they are always there for her.

Language is simple and lucid and the narration is done beautifully.

I totally loved the book cover it is very cute. The title of the book is also very cute and totally apt to the plot.

Overall, I would say that it was a very good story and I enjoyed reading it a lot. I would surely recommend it to all.

My Rating: 5/5
