A Kind of Commitment | Book Review
A Kind of Commitment
‘A Kind of Commitment’ by Pratibha Malav is a story that revolves around Mausami who dreams of becoming a well known photographer. Her family members are not very happy with her aspirations and hence she has to struggle a lot. One day Artaksh (Sadhya’s Cousin) just comes into her life but as Mausami was already facing a lot of problems in her life she had become reserved. She hardly used to talk anyone and hence during a party she and Artaksh they both end up fighting which ends up in an ugly manner. But soon Artaksh makes up with Mausami and they both soon fall in love with each other at least Mausami was. But for Artaksh it was all about revenge. Soon Mausami moves to Mumbai where a new life is waiting for her. Somehow she starts believing in love again but her past just won’t let her live her life peacefully. Does she get over Artaksh? What happens in Mumbai that which makes her believe in love again? To know read ‘A Kind of Commitment’
The plot is well written it was somewhat predictable too. It was very emotional at times to see how Mausami was suffering for no fault of hers. But the readers also have a lot to learn from Mausami like she never gives up. She is determined to achieve her goals. I am sure the readers will connect with the plot. Each page has a plot twist and will keep the readers hooked till the last page.
The author has done portrayed the characters excellently. They are very much relatable and I was really annoyed with Artaksh and how he makes Mausami’s life a hell. There’s a lot to learn from Mausami she takes everything positively and changes herself a lot after going through all the suffering. Mausami is very lucky to have the best people in her life. I liked the friendship between Mausami and Sadhya and later her friendship with Anuj and Usha too.
Language is simple and lucid and the readers can easily flow through the story. The narration is done beautifully.
The book cover is simple but is apt to the plot. The title of the book is interesting and apt to the plot.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and would surely recommend it to all.
