Daughters of Brothel

'Daughters of Brothel' by Deepak Yadav is a collection of short stories wherein we get to see how sometimes we judge people for their work. But we generally ignore the fact that these people are denied the basic right to job, health care and also livelihood. When these people are denied the basic rights what are they supposed to do and where are they supposed to go. In this book we get to see the stories of Delhi's Red Light District and their sufferings. To know more read Daughters of Brothel’.

My Thoughts:

The author has done a great job in handling this sensitive topic and showed us the reality of how people get into this work and how much they have to suffer only to make ends meet and to feed their family.

The language is simple and lucid.

The book is actually interviews taken and hence the characters and their sufferings can actually be felt in the stories and the conversation they have. The readers will actually have goosebumps while reading the reality which we are mostly unaware of.

Overall, I would surely recommend this book to all.

My Rating: 5/5
