Chronicles of Kuru Woman Krishna's Sister Vol – 1
Author: Priyanka Bhuyan
Pages: 153

‘Chronicles of Kuru Woman Krishna’s Sister Vol-1 by Priyanka Bhuyan is a mythological fiction retelling of Mahabharat from the viewpoint of Princess Subhadra. Subhadra the sister of Lord Krishna and wife of Arjuna we hardly get to read anything about the Princess Subhadra who is not only the sister of Lord Krishna but also a great warrior, the bond that she shares with her brothers Krishna and . The book describes in detail the life of Subhadra right from the childhood to her getting married to the person she loved and experiencing the heart wrenching war and the aftermath of it. We normally don’t get to read Maharabharat from a different angle and this definitely throws light on the war which will give the readers a very new experience. To know more about Subhadra and what she has experienced read Chronicles of Kuru Woman Krishna’s Sister  Vol-1.

My Thoughts:

The plot is very unique and interesting to read. It kept me curious throughout the book. The story is gripping and will keep the readers on edge throughout the book. Plus this is the first time that I read something about Subhadra and it was very enlightening.

All the characters are well developed but I loved the character of Subhadra she is a strong woman and a great warrior. Loved the way she takes all the decisions and thinks from all the perspectives. We also get to see how the other characters think and act during all the events are taking place.

Language is simple and lucid which will make it easy for the readers to go through the book.

The narration is also done beautifully and the pace of the book is also good and maintained throughout the book.

The cover page of the book is beautiful and we get to see the valor of the warrior princess Subhadra. It is apt to the story line of the book. The title of the book is also apt.

Overall, I loved reading the book and would surely recommend it to all especially people who are looking forward to start mythological genre.

My Rating: 5/5
