Human Trafficking and Encounter with Soul
Author: JNKPages: 244
‘Freedom – Human Trafficking and
Encounter with Soul’ by JNK is a book which has two different stories. The
first one being on Human Trafficking and the second one where our protangonist
has an encounter with a soul. Let us have a look at the two stories –
The first story ‘Human
Trafficking’ is about a girl named Honey. She works for Mr. Honey a famous
detective as an assistant to him. There’s some strange and mysterious missing
case of women. No one knows where the women went and what happened to her.
There are many girls and women missing and there’s no trace of them. Then one
day our protagonist decides to go to the shanties where these people stay and
do her research. Here, she finds that there are many illegal work going on and
moving forward in the case she also finds that many such cases are uncovered
and kept hidden. These women are then thrown into many heinous crimes such as
sex racket, surrogacy, etc. Who is involved in these crimes? Are people so
inhumane that they only think of themselves ignoring other humans? Will Honey

more read ‘Freedom’.
The second story ‘Encounter with
Soul’ is about a school going girl named
Rasbeen. Everything was going well for Rasbeen a bright girl who always used to
score excellent marks till 9th Standard. But all of a sudden after
going to the 10th Standard she starts failing in all her subjects.
The struggle was so much that she even thinks of committing suicide and her
relationship with her father is also getting affected. But soon she starts
experiencing a presence but she can’t see anyone around her. She even enquires
about this with her mother but she advised on not watching too much horror.
Days pass by and the shadow himself introduces him and his motive and
relationship to Rasbeen. Does Rasbeen do well in her Boards? To know what
relationship this shadow shares with Rasbeen and more read ‘Freedom’.
My Thoughts:
The book has
two stories and both have very unique plots. The author has blended suspense,
spirituality, thrill. The story was engaging and I was very excited to
know what happens next. The end was a bit disappointing as the end is a bit
rushed and will keep the readers guessing as to what must have happened in both
the stories.
The language
of the book is simple and lucid. But the book needs to be edited there are a
few spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Other wise the writing style of
the author is pretty good.
Speaking
about the characters there are too many characters and might confuse the
readers. The characters are well developed but they are way too perfect in
Human Trafficking story. Like our protagonist Honey is always thinking about
others. I liked Soul and the way he helps Rasbeen in achieving her goal and how
he enlightens her with his knowledge.
The
narration was a bit repetitive at certain places and needs to be worked on. I
felt like I wanted to know a bit more about certain things but it ended very
abruptly. The pace of the book was a bit too fast.
Overall, it
was a good read and would surely recommend to my friends.
My Rating:
4/5
