“The Hunt” by Sourabh Mukherjee is a short but engaging tale of a person who comes back after 15 years to avenge the person who took away all the happiness from his family. The protagonist is following Dibakar Roy for the past one month and he plots the plan and is waiting for the right time to take his revenge. Why does he want to kill an old man? What exactly happened 15 years back due to which our protagonist is keen on taking revenge? To know the answer to these read TheHunt.

The title of the book is very apt to the book and would surely rise the curiosity of the readers as to who is hunting and who’s going to be hunted? The book is a part of the series called ‘it’s all about love series’ and the story is very unique to the concept.

Loved the writing style of the author and it surely has the power to arouse the emotions into the readers. Also the author has successfully linked the past and the present in an interesting way which would keep the reader engaged and would surely want to know what is happening next. The language is simple and the flow of the book is perfect not very slow and too fast too.

The characters were very less but they were written well. The cover is beautiful and is very apt to the story. The story is written in first person which makes the protagonist’s emotions very clear and we also the unbearable pain that the protagonist is going through.

Overall, I would say it was a very good story. But I wished it was more longer it got over very soon. I would surely recommend this book to someone who looking to read something short and a story which has revenge and mystery to it.

My Rating: 4/5
