Granny's Chulha | Book Review

Image
Granny's Chulha  Pages: 104           'Granny's Chulha' is a compilation of authentic recipes and stories behind how the recipes came into being. What I really liked about the book is that they don't just mention the recipes but the team has also taken the pain to interview all the grannies giving us a glimpse of these strong willed and determined ladies.            The recipes are easy to follow and the instructions are given clearly. The notes and tips are very helpful especially for complicated things wherein the person following the recipe can mess things up or use something else as a replacement to the ingredient.            The illustrations are really cute and adds to the attractiveness of the book. Overall, I must say that this is not just a recipe book but also an encouragement for all the ladies out there who feel that they are lagging behind or cannot achieve anything. Thus book will sur...

Nine Book Review

Image
Nine Author: Vineet Singh Hukmani Pages: 213        'Nine' by Vineet Singh Hukmani is a collection of 9 short stories. Through these 9 stories the author has shown us some of the pros and cons of technology. How technology is meant to ease our life and not to take control our life. The urge to be the best of whatever we do but what if instead of our hardworking we depend on science and technology to excel? This is the first time ever that I have read a book wherein we get to listen to songs based on the stories. The songs were motivational and it was altogether a new experience for me.           Language is simple and lucid. It is very difficult in a short story to create a character but through these stories we get to meet a whole lot of characters and the readers can surely relate to them.            The book cover is interesting and suspenseful.
